Bring a Stuffed Animal to Conclave and Pass it On!
In the spirit of cheerful service, Section SR-7A conducts an annual service project at Conclave to benefit others. For the 2016 Conclave ServiceProject, SR-7A has partnered with a group called Gleaning for the World for an exciting projectconsisting of a stuffed animal drive as well as assembling backpacks with school supplies for needy children. For this worthwhile project to happen, all arrowmen are invited to bring new or gently used stuffed animals to Conclave. Once we are gathered at Conclave, the stuffed animals will be sorted and packed for shipment to children in hospitals and orphanages.
The stuffed animals you bring to Conclave should fit the following criteria:
- Clean and free of rips, tears, stains, and odors
- No battery packs or squeaky toys
- Nothing scary, Halloween-related, or military affiliated
- Stuffed animals of all sizes will be accepted but the suggested size range is stuffed animals between 10” and 15” tall
Anyone who brings at least 3 stuffed animals to Conclave will qualify for a special patch plus, the lodge that brings the most stuffed animals relative to their Conclave attendance will be recognized.
Stuffed animals will be collected on Friday night when you arrive at Conclave. On Saturday, Arrowmen will have the opportunity to sort and box the stuffed animals that are collected as well as pack backpacks with school supplies for needy children.
2016 will be the fourth year that a Conclave ServiceProject has been held in SR-7A and the involvement and support of our membership has been critical to the success of each project undertaken. This year will be no different; bringing stuffed animals to Conclave has the potential to change the lives of those less fortunate. The section is also seeking donations to help offset the cost of acquiring the school supplies and backpacks. Donations may be made when you register for Conclave. Every dollar donated for the Service Project will be used exclusively for offsetting costs associated with the Conclave Service Project and all donations are tax deductible.
